Alex is a member of M&G Real Estate Executive Committee and Head of UK and European Living. Alex joined M&G Real Estate in 2013 to establish and build the residential capability and team in the business. He is responsible for setting the UK and European Living investment strategies and for driving overall fund performance and overseeing the fund managers across M&G Real Estate’s residential product range.
Prior to joining M&G Real Estate, Alex spent seven years at Grainger with responsibility for the Schroders ResPut Fund and the Grainger Geninvest JV with Genesis housing. He also set up Grainger’s Ramp platform and managed its partnership with Lloyds Banking Group for distressed borrowers. Furthermore, prior to this Alex had oversight of a student accommodation portfolio whilst working for Bradford and Bingley Building Society.
Alex is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and the Chair of the British Property Federation Residential Committee. Alex is a member of the board of St Edwards homes, a joint venture between Prudential and Berkeley Homes, and a member of the board for Greencore Homes, a carbon negative housebuilder.

Jonathan is a Director in the European Real Assets Research and Strategy team and the Head of Real Estate Research, covering both UK and Continental Europe. He is an expert in Private Markets, developed over a ten year career focussed on quantitative and qualitative analysis. Jonathan works across the real estate capital stack; specifically on Aviva Investors’ fund and joint venture equity investments, as well as on our debt and long income mandates. Jonathan has also led recent thematic research efforts into new sectors like Single Family Residential, PBSA and Self-Storage. Jonathan continues to lead on thematic-led Real Estate research, and part of his role now encompasses analysing platform partners (OpCos) and also identifying potential routes to market for Aviva Investors.

Ben has worked at Gresham House for 12 years, including via TradeRisks which was acquired by Gresham House in March 2020. Prior to setting up Residential Secure Income in 2017, Ben led TradeRisks’ debt advisory services for housing associations, local authorities, and specialist residential accommodation. Ben has 18 years of experience in housing, local government and infrastructure and qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from Imperial College London.

Richard is founder and CEO of the UK Single-Family Association, Build-to-Rent strategic advisory business Blackbird REA and has been part of the residential investment sector for more than 25 years. He has been involved in BTR since its inception back in 2010 and was Head of Strategy at prop tech management business Howsy, worked with Residential Land, Ivanhoe Cambridge, Apollo Global RE, LSL plc, , Traderisks, Cortland, Cubex Land/Fiera Real Estate, and numerous others. Author of “Understanding Build-to-Rent: a guide to the changing face of the private rented sector”, industry research paper “Single-Family Housing: The Home of Residential Investment” and “A National Register of Rents as a Solution and an Alternative to a Landlord Register” He has also held various NED roles and is currently trustee and Vice-Chair of the Grayshott & District Housing Association and advisor to BNP Paribas RE Capital Markets.

Katherine is a litigator specialising in advice on health and safety, fire safety and environmental matters. Katherine works across the infrastructure, energy and real estate sectors. She is at the forefront of the firm's thought leadership on building and fire safety, advising clients on regulatory change occasioned by the Hackitt review of building regulations and fire safety. Having spent two years heading up the in-house legal team at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Katherine is uniquely placed to guide clients through the complexities of fire safety regulation across the UK. More broadly, Katherine has a wealth of experience in health and safety, environmental and fire safety law. For well over a decade, Katherine has provided pragmatic and down-to-earth advice to the firm's clients, including key players and household names, not only on immediate incident response, internal investigation, and investigations by regulators, but also on how to avoid an incident occurring in the first place. She frequently appears in courts and tribunals defending organisations charged with regulatory offences, representing their interests at Fatal Accident Inquiries and appealing enforcement action. She is a regular speaker at health and safety and fire safety events and provides training and advice on preventative measures.

Natalie specialises in property development work. She advises public and private sector clients on large scale projects across England and Wales with a particular focus on housing, student accommodation and build to rent projects. Natalie has extensive experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams to work with clients from site acquisition, through development and funding to stabilisation or sale.
Natalie advises developers, investors and public authorities in relation to large scale residential development projects. Natalie heads our built to rent practice and acts for a number of the leading developers and investors in this market across both single and multi-family projects and has experience in dealing with both new build schemes and stabilised stock. Natalie is also part of our building safety “task force” and is advising a number of clients on the implications of the new regime.

A significant aspect of his expertise revolves around the dynamic evolution of the Built-to-Rent sector and the ongoing transformation of Student Living (PBSA) design, bringing a wealth of knowledge in multi-generational rental living. His distinct, invaluable, and consistently innovative approach to projects ensures that clients derive optimal value throughout every stage of the design and construction process.

Paul has a deep understanding of the importance of Placemaking, ESG and inclusive spaces in successful masterplanning. Sustainability and the use of innovation in the application of design to improve outcomes and utilising Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), are integral aspects of his approach. His ongoing projects include Brent Cross Town with Related Argent, a new Student Village at Royal Holloway, University of London and a multi-generational regeneration scheme in Hove for Moda Living.
